The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus is NOT just a Mardi Gras Parade Organization. We are also a 501(c)3 nonprofit and a satirical Space Cult! We celebrate a timeless form of divine revelry in our annual parade rituals when we dispense the blessings of the Sacred Drunken Wookiee!

The ordination process is open to anyone and allows ministers to perform marriages and other sacred rituals. The Ordination Package includes the following digital materials:

  • Credentials of Ministry
  • Certification as a Wedding Officiant
  • Chewbacchus Marriage Certificate
  • Letter of Good Standing in the Space Cult
  • ChewbacchanALIEN Minister Card

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Minister Ordination is completely separate from your Krewe dues. Ordination is good for LIFE. You must still pay your $42 dues each and every year you want to roll in the Chewbacchus Parade, including the year you become an Ordained ChewbacchanALIEN Minister.

To become a marriage officiant in New Orleans…

1. Fill out a copy of the Orleans Parish Marriage Officiant Application and get it notarized.

For more information on the process of registering as a marriage officiant please visit the website of the Louisiana Department of Health and Human Services.

2. Register as a religious officiant by submitting all of these materials, along with a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (for the return of you ordination documents) to:
