Midsummer Mardi Gras is back, y’all! Join the wild and wonderful nerddom of Chewbacchus as we take to the streets for this parade, which has been put off for years by the pandemic and multiple hurricanes. The Krewe of Oak’s theme this year is “Let Love Slip Up On Ya!” For the 2022 parade, KOA is has a new plan for the festivites. Instead of marching to Palmer Park, we will parade a shorter route up and down Carrolton (U-turning at Cohn) and come back to a giant block party on the 8300 block of Oak by the Maple Leaf. There will be bands, drinks available for sale on the street, and the unique brand of revelry that that only happens at MSMG. We’ll be at lineup for 6 at the corner of Cambronne and Oak. We’ll do toasts to the KOA king and queen at the Leaf are at 7, and the parade rolls at 8.
