The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus presented its first parade on Sunday, March 6, 2011. Lining up at The Big Top on Clio, approximately 200 Chewbacchans rolled along St. Charles Avenue (opposite Bacchus) and meandered through Central City before ending at The Big Top for the first Chewbacchanal.
Queen Cynthia Scott (Corporal Deitrich, the 1st Space Marine to die in Aliens), reigned as royalty along with Lil Doogie, Ad Hoc Puppet Government. Peter Mayhew, AKA The ORIGINAL Wookiee, planned to ride and was named Emperor for Life, but was unable to attend the festivities.
Lil Doogie and Odom performed at the Chewbacchanal and Odom’s song “Keeping Up with the Jetsons” was the theme song of the Krewe of Chewbacchus first parade.
