The 2016 Chewbacchus parade brought an entirely new, weird experience to the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus: The Mysteries of the Chewluminati. The multi-media conceptual scavenger hunt kicked off the summer before the parade and had participants solving a series of clues by collecting a range of images and artifacts located in cyberspace and throughout the New Orleans metro area. The ultimate winner, Keith Greene, reigned as the Supreme Lizard Person of the Chewluminati.

The 2016 Chewbacchus Parade featured a new route. The Chewbacchus Fleet staged at the Krewe du Vieux “Den of Muses” at 42 Architect’s Alley (Chewbacchus’ ancestral home), with lineup starting around the corner at N Peters Street and St Ferdinand Street. The parade rolled down N Peters, to Frenchmen Street, along Dauphine Street, and past Mimi’s in the Marigny before winding back up to St. Claude Avenue. The parade ended at the Chewbacchus Den at Castillo Blanco Art Studios, 4321 St. Claude Avenue. The parade’s signature contraption was a Chewluminati Pyramid with an interactive All Seeing Eye, as well as a Reptilian Delorean.

The 2016 Chewbacchanal was again at Castillo Blanco and featured The Morning 40 Federation (The Morning 42’s for one night only), DohmStar Collective, Tristan Dufrene, DJ Mic Phedusha, DJ GenEric, Rick Grimes + Special Surprises.
