The Golden Wookiee Awards are the highest honours the Krewe bestows on its members — recognition for exceptional, sustained, often quietly heroic service to the Mother Krewe over the long arc of a parade year. Recipients are members whose work, in the words of one Overlord, is “supernova-level”: the contraption-builders who never sleep, the captains who keep their subkrewes intact through chaos, the volunteers who handle, on parade day, the things nobody else volunteered to handle.
The award is, by long-standing tradition, given only once to an individual. A Golden Wookiee marks a permanent place in Krewe history. Past recipients are not retired; they continue to contribute, advise, and (when called upon) attend the Royalty Dinner the evening before each parade.
